Requirements
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or similar
- Experience in development or testing complex systems
- Experience in test data acquisition and evaluation
- Ability to design fluid and mechanical systems
- Experience and curiosity about troubleshooting
- Physical dexterity and ability to lift 20kg
- Willingness to work outdoors
- Performance in high-stress environments
- Adaptability to changing work environments
- Quality and safety mindset with attention to detail
- Active and constructive communication skills
- Fluency in English
- EU category B driving license
- Experience with fluid systems and piping
- Experience with instrumentation for test systems
- Experience with at least one programming language
- Experience with 3D modeling software
- Knowledge of cryogenic fluid rocket propulsion
- Knowledge of hazardous systems
Tasks
- Perform development, qualification, and acceptance tests
- Test liquid rocket engine subcomponents
- Test integrated subsystems of the Spectrum rocket
- Conduct test operations in Ottobrunn and Reischach
- Test gas generators, subscale engines, and turbopumps
- Plan, prepare, and execute tests
- Process test data and write reports
- Develop and maintain internal test standards
- Establish test procedures and sequences
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing test benches
- Upgrade existing test rigs
- Design test rigs and layout sensors
- Build test set-ups for ad-hoc needs
- Collaborate with design engineers for fast iterations
- Ensure safe and efficient team operations
