Process Engineer for Separation Systems(m/w/x)

Description

In this role, you will design and optimize separation processes while collaborating with simulation partners. Your hands-on work will involve operating experimental systems and ensuring compliance with safety standards, all while shaping the future of DAC plants.

Requirements

• •Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field
• •5+ years of experience in process engineering with focus on separation technology or gas–liquid systems
• •Demonstrated experience in experimental design, process testing, and data analysis
• •Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, mass transfer, liquid distribution, and water management
• •Experience with AspenPlus, KGTower, or similar simulation tools
• •Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, H&MBs, and process safety documentation
• •Fast learning and quick to grasp complex topics
• •Team player with hands-on mentality

• •Good listener and effective communicator in cross-sectional team
• •Curious and open-minded
• •Valid Work Permit for Germany, or able to obtain a permit

Tasks

• •Design and optimize separation processes
• •Focus on gas–liquid behavior and flow dynamics
• •Manage water using tools like AspenPlus and KGTower
• •Collaborate with simulation partners to define model requirements
• •Validate CFD and process models with empirical data
• •Translate findings into practical engineering improvements
• •Design and operate experimental test systems
• •Generate data to validate assumptions
• •Accelerate understanding of separation and flow phenomena
• •Drive process engineering documentation, including PFDs and P&IDs
• •Size valves and pipes, and conduct safety reviews
• •Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• •Capture and share learnings through structured documentation
• •Benchmark emerging research and industrial best practices
