- Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Principal Software Engineers, and Product Managers
- Define and drive long-term technical vision and architecture
- Explore and implement a platform-oriented approach
- Break down complex solutions into iterations
- Ship large-scale projects to production
- Drive, mentor, design, and contribute code
- Improve operational excellence of department systems
- Provide hands-on support for time-critical incident investigations
- Act as a sparring partner to tech and product leadership
- Research, propose, and drive pragmatic solutions
- Experiment with and evaluate emerging AI-powered engineering tools
- Collaborate with senior individual contributors
- Set engineering standards across Zalando
- Guide decision-making for Zalando's technology landscape
- Share expertise across teams to strengthen the engineering and science community
