Requirements
- Top-grade full university degree with doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or comparable subjects
- Fascination with interdisciplinary research field Solvation Science
- Experience in synthesis (organic catalysis, coordination chemistry, electrosynthesis), (time-resolved) laser spectroscopic techniques, theoretical chemistry (simulations or electronic structure calculations), or sustainable reaction engineering
- Solid knowledge of English (at least level B2, oral and written)
- Competence in at least one of two languages and willingness to learn the other
Tasks
- Contribute to developing guidelines for solvent selection and design
- Maximize yield and selectivity in chemical processes
- Minimize environmental footprint of chemical processes
- Integrate lab automation and AI-assisted methods
- Collaborate with experts in synthesis, spectroscopy, and computations
- Create predictive models for solvent system impact
- Quantify impact on chemical processes, reactivities, and solubilities
- Focus on organocatalysis, electrosynthesis, and photoredox catalysis
- Support sustainable chemistry initiatives
