Requirements

  • University degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) in Physics, Applied Physics, or related field
  • Strong foundation in optics and photonics
  • Solid understanding of classical mechanics
  • Experience in experimental work and laboratory measurements
  • Familiarity with semiconductor materials, surface properties, reflectance, and defect origins
  • Experience in precision measurement, including traceability, uncertainty budgets, and calibration
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Structured and precise working style

Tasks

  • Design and optimize machine vision systems for die inspection
  • Develop illumination concepts for die inspection
  • Select imaging optics for die inspection
  • Choose cameras for die inspection
  • Develop image analysis algorithms for die inspection
  • Characterize optical properties of semiconductor materials
  • Characterize physical properties of semiconductor materials
  • Detect defects in semiconductor materials
  • Perform dimensional measurements on semiconductor materials
  • Develop physical models for sorting machinery
  • Validate physical models for sorting machinery
  • Model forces within sorting machinery
  • Model vibrations within sorting machinery
  • Model mechanical tolerances within sorting machinery
  • Perform cleanroom particle analyses
  • Assess contamination risks
  • Support process qualification
  • Support cleanliness protocols
  • Conduct measurement uncertainty analyses
  • Perform calibration campaigns for inspection systems
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers
  • Collaborate with software developers
  • Translate physical insights into machine design
  • Document experimental results
  • Derive conclusions from experiments
