PhD position in experimental leukemia research(m/w/x)
Establishing engineered murine leukemia models with retroviral gene transfer and CRISPR/Cas9. Hands-on cell culture and molecular biology experience required. Access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, interdisciplinary environment.
Requirements
- M.Sc. or equivalent in molecular biology, immunology, biomedical sciences, or related life science discipline
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and molecular biology methods (e.g., PCR, cloning, transfection)
- Strong interest to independently acquire in-depth project understanding
- Willingness to familiarize with novel methods
- Experience with flow cytometry, primary hematopoietic cell culture, genetic engineering (viral gene transfer/CRISPR) or next-generation sequencing library preparation is advantageous
- FELASA B equivalent is advantageous for murine transplantation and treatment studies
- Commitment to acquire animal experiment certificate if no prior experience
- Focused individual with strong work ethic
- Ready to engage in cooperative work within the group and with consortia members
Tasks
- Establish and characterize engineered murine leukemia models
- Conduct retroviral gene transfer and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing
- Validate models using molecular read-outs and flow cytometry
- Support functional genomics workflows
- Prepare samples and single-cell libraries for RoCK&ROI-Seq
- Profile drug responses in high-throughput formats
- Perform in vitro and in vivo assays
- Study lineage plasticity and therapy escape
- Conduct differentiation and co-culture experiments
- Execute mouse transplantation and immunotherapy experiments
- Collaborate with CATCH ALL research unit partners
