Requirements
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Technical Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences field
- Broad theoretical background and practical experience in biochemistry and molecular biology with strong focus on protein biochemistry and immunoassays (e.g., ELISA)
- Ideally, expertise in antibody (mimetic) engineering, microfluidic/lab-on-a-chip systems, and related protein coupling techniques
- Analytical thinking with creative solution approaches
- Structured, proactive, and hands-on manner
- High degree of independence and personal drive
- Enjoyment of collaborative and open-minded teamwork
- Driven by scientific curiosity
- Ambition to solve complex challenges
- Enjoyment of working with experts from various disciplines
- Desire to help shape innovative, practice-relevant technologies
- Very good written and spoken German skills
- Very good written and spoken English skills
Tasks
- Conduct in-depth research on current protein assay technologies
- Evaluate diverse assay technologies, including recognition molecules and detection strategies
- Develop and build a complete, automated assay workflow on the microfluidic system
- Optimize and validate the assay workflow
- Master the integration of biochemistry, surface chemistry, and system components
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Present research findings to internal stakeholders
