Requirements
- •University degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent field
- •Basic knowledge in Additive Manufacturing and Robotics and programming (e.g. Python)
- •Good understanding of CAx artifacts and related workflows in product design and development
- •Knowledge in graphical programming (low code, e.g. Synera, Grasshopper)
- •Knowledge in basic vehicle design and automotive technology
- •Experience with commercial CAD, CAM, CAE, PIDO and optimization software
- •Track record of research contributions (publications, conference talks, or equivalent) is a plus
- •Business fluent English, German language skills are a plus
- •Valid residence or work permit for citizens outside the European Union

Tasks
- •Conduct research in generative systems for CAx workflows
- •Develop methods and algorithms for geometry generation
- •Ensure geometries meet manufacturability, structural mechanics, weight, and cost requirements
- •Analyze and integrate fabrication requirements into the design framework
- •Generate suitable geometries through mathematical formulation
- •Collaborate closely with universities and BMW engineering departments
- •Publish research results and contribute to the automotive research community
