Requirements

  • •Master’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, telecommunication, computer science, physics, or a closely related field
  • •Partly qualified European patent attorney, further European national patent attorney qualification is a plus
  • •At least 3 years of experience after European Qualifying Examination
  • •Experience at a top law firm and/or in-house experience with large information, communication, and telecom companies
  • •Open-mindedness and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced commercial environment within a multinational team
  • •Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (legal English) and good command of German
  • •Collaborative and responsible team-player mentality
  • •Goal-oriented forward thinking and acting

Tasks

  • •Implement Huawei’s global patent portfolio management strategy in Europe
  • •Strengthen claims to align with business goals and licensing scenarios
  • •Manage patent portfolios across various technical fields
  • •Prepare, draft, file, and prosecute patent applications
  • •Respond to office actions in collaboration with inventors and colleagues
  • •Review and evaluate invention disclosures and claim charts
  • •Conduct interviews with examiners regarding patent applications
  • •Support patent and technology licensing activities in Europe
  • •Prepare and review technical documents for litigation
  • •Perform patent infringement and validity analyses
