Packaging & Filling Engineering Design Manager(m/w/x)
Defining global strategy for packaging equipment design and filling technologies. Bachelor's degree in engineering and FMCG/Food & Beverage experience required. Automation and GMP expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Process, Mechatronics, or Packaging Engineering
- Master’s degree considered an advantage
- Strong experience in packaging engineering, filling systems, or packaging technology
- Experience within FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Dairy environments
- Deep technical expertise in packaging equipment, materials, GMP, food safety, and automation
- Experienced in developing URS documents, technical standards, and equipment specifications
- Understanding of sustainability and ESG requirements in design
- At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong track record managing mid- to large-scale Capex projects above €5 million
- Experienced working with suppliers, OEMs, and cross-functional teams
- Delivered innovation or technology deployment projects in complex, international environments
- Confident working across multiple stakeholders and functions
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working independently while aligning global teams
- Fluent in English
- Additional European languages seen as a plus
- Willingness to travel regularly to support suppliers, FATs, and project execution
- Encouraged to apply even if not meeting all requirements
Tasks
- Define global strategy for packaging equipment design
- Develop filling and packing technologies
- Lead packaging innovation across the business
- Shape technical standards for packaging
- Drive innovation in packaging solutions
- Deploy new packaging technologies globally
- Ensure packaging platforms meet future requirements
- Collaborate with R&D Packaging, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and external partners
- Define and deliver the packaging technology roadmap
- Set global standards for packaging equipment and systems
- Develop URS documents and scope definitions
- Create design standards for packaging solutions
- Translate innovation and sustainability into engineering specs
- Ensure consistency, safety, quality, and performance
- Scout and evaluate new automation and digital solutions
- Identify and assess new equipment solutions
- Focus on sustainability and energy efficiency
- Reduce waste and decarbonize packaging systems
- Promote circularity in packaging
- Lead Capex projects from feasibility to start-up
- Support procurement and FAT processes
- Commission and start up new equipment
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Improve manufacturing capacity and OEE
- Optimize packaging processes
