On-Site IT Support Specialist(m/w/x)
Primary on-site IT contact and escalation lead for a global bioanalytical CRO, supporting Microsoft and Adobe applications. 3-5 years technical support experience with desktops, servers, networks required; German fluency highly preferred. Direct impact on accelerating new therapies to patients.
Requirements
- Post-secondary IT education or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3-5 years proven technical support experience (desktops, servers, networks)
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Highly preferred German fluency
- Strong Microsoft operating systems proficiency
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem experience
- Adobe Acrobat experience
- Microsoft Defender experience
- Oracle clients experience
- Citrix environments experience
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Working knowledge of DNS
- Working knowledge of DHCP
- Working knowledge of VLAN concepts
- Basic switch configuration knowledge
- Familiarity with endpoint deployment tools (Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, Autopilot)
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Microsoft certifications (Azure Administration, Windows Server Hybrid Administration, or Modern Desktop Administration Associate) (advantage)
- Experience in regulated environments (advantageous)
- Lab instrumentation support experience (advantageous)
- Full on-site availability in Fehraltorf/Zurich
Tasks
- Serve as the primary on-site IT contact
- Lead IT escalations for the Zurich site
- Coordinate with local and global IT teams
- Support Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Support Adobe Acrobat/Creative Cloud applications
- Support Oracle Client Tools and Citrix Virtual Apps
- Support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Execute IMAC activities
- Perform preventative workstation maintenance
- Provide hands-on support for Windows Server
- Support Active Directory environments
- Support local network infrastructure, switches, and cabling
- Manage and resolve daily support tickets
- Maintain accurate ticket updates
- Communicate clearly with users until resolution
- Support local backup, restore, and archival processes
- Maintain knowledge of ODBC connectivity
- Maintain knowledge of basic SQL client configuration
- Lead endpoint deployment and imaging
- Utilize Microsoft Intune for deployments
- Use SCCM/MECM and Autopilot for imaging
- Ensure endpoint and infrastructure systems comply with GxP
- Comply with data-integrity regulatory requirements
- Adhere to validated processes and change control
- Provide IT onboarding training for new hires
- Offer ongoing end-user guidance
- Support on-site cabling activities
- Install local network switches
- Troubleshoot network equipment
