Requirements
- Experience designing large, stable optical mounts/assemblies for high-energy laser systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical kinematics and managing degrees of freedom in precision systems
- Proficiency in CAD/mechanical modeling (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
- Proficiency in thermal and vibrational analysis techniques
- Experience selecting/integrating adjustment mechanisms for optical component alignment
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary team, collaborating with optical engineers and physicists
- Prior experience with ultra-short-pulse laser systems or high-stability optical platforms
- Familiarity with mechanical implications of optical tolerances
- Background in manufacturing/assembly of precision optical mounts/stages
- Comfort writing documentation/specifications for mechanical interfaces and adjustment procedures
