Requirements
- Ongoing master's studies in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related discipline
- Solid background in electrochemistry and/or heterogeneous catalysis
- Familiarity with materials characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, XPS, contact angle, porosimetry)
- Hands-on mindset and interest in experimental laboratory work
- Prior experience with electrode fabrication, MEA assembly, or fuel cell/electrolyzer testing
- Experience with Python, Origin, or similar data analysis tools
Tasks
- Fabricate gas diffusion electrodes using spray and slot-die coating
- Assemble membrane electrode assemblies
- Characterize physicochemical and electrochemical properties of catalyst layers
- Operate zero-gap CO2 electrolyzer cells under various conditions
- Evaluate electrolyzer performance with CO2 from DAC sources
- Conduct impurity tolerance and stability studies
- Analyze and document experimental data
- Present results in internal meetings and scientific contexts
