Master Thesis – SysML v2 for Early-Phase Engineering of Robotic Production Systems(m/w/x)
In-depth study on SysML v2 for robotic production systems, comparing v1 and developing modeling approaches within a Robotics department. Master's program enrollment in Systems Engineering or related, plus basic SysML v1 knowledge and modeling tool experience required. 35-hour week, Generation Airbus Community participation.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and interest in model-based development
- Basic knowledge of SysML v1 and experience with modeling tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, Capella)
- Interest in learning and applying SysML v2
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Self-driven, methodical, and open to interdisciplinary collaboration
- Strong English and German communication skills
- Awareness of compliance risks and commitment to integrity
Tasks
- Support the Robotics department as a Master's student
- Conduct an in-depth study on SysML v2 for modeling production systems
- Compare SysML v1 and SysML v2 for robotic production systems
- Derive concepts from SysML v1 models for representation in SysML v2
- Develop a modeling approach for domain experts to use SysML v2
- Integrate robotics-specific extensions into the SysML v2 metamodel
- Validate the approach through expert interviews and application studies
- Provide modeling guidelines and best practices for SysML v2 usage
