Master’s Thesis in the Field of Data Science / Machine Learning in Injection Molding(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Enrolled in degree program (Data Science, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or comparable)
- Strong knowledge of statistics, data science, and machine learning
- Experience with Python and common libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
- Interest in production processes, ideally with knowledge of injection molding or manufacturing technologies
- Very good German or English language skills (written and spoken)
- Interest in pursuing industrial PhD following thesis
Tasks
- Analyze and prepare production and process data
- Identify factors affecting part quality, cycle time, and scrap rates
- Develop and implement machine learning models
- Evaluate models for predictive performance and industrial applicability
- Visualize and interpret results for technical stakeholders
- Derive actionable recommendations for process optimization
- Document results and prepare scientific thesis
