Manager NPI/Project Procurement(m/w/x)

Requirements
- BS degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Procurement, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field
- 7+ years’ experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain within a regulated manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience in NPI procurement, supplier selection, and ramp-to-production
- Strong knowledge of sourcing principles, cost modelling, commercial negotiations, and supplier management
- Track record of leading cross-functional sourcing activities within fast-paced project environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle or equivalent)
- Familiarity with controlled manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements
- Experience with NPI qualification processes including supplier qualification/PPAP
- Understanding of TCO modeling, DFM/DFX principles and value engineering approaches
- Experience managing supplier capability improvements and capacity expansions
- Hybrid work environment with domestic and international supplier travel when required
- High interaction with Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality, and Operations
- Business fluent language skills in German and English
Tasks
- Own procurement deliverables for assigned NPI projects
- Ensure materials availability for prototype, validation, and pilot builds
- Drive supplier selection for new components
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Strategic Sourcing
- Lead RFQ processes and cost breakdown analysis
- Conduct TCO evaluations and commercial comparisons
- Align supplier selection with NPI sourcing strategy
- Represent NPI Procurement in cross-functional teams
- Guide Engineering teams on supply market availability and manufacturability
- Provide visibility of risks, constraints, and cost trends
- Partner with Supplier Engineering to assess supplier capacity readiness
- Conduct capacity assessments and mitigate constraints early
- Support implementation of part qualification requirements
- Define and execute cost target plans for new components
- Conduct TCO analyses and support DFM/DFX activities
- Support commercial negotiations for prototypes and pilot builds
- Ensure competitiveness and cost transparency from development to production
- Identify sourcing risks and execute mitigation plans
- Drive supplier capability improvements for manufacturability and scalability
- Ensure material availability for development builds
- Maintain accurate procurement and supplier master data for NPI parts
- Coordinate change orders and configuration updates for critical components
- Ensure smooth handover to Production/Category Management teams
- Lead and develop a team of two Project Buyers
- Drive continuous improvement of sourcing processes and methodologies
- Act as escalation point within the procurement portion of NPI programs
