Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum 10 years hardware development experience in automotive ECUs
  • More than 5 years project management experience
  • Experience in technical team leadership
  • Best class knowledge in Hardware architecture, development, EMC and RF Design
  • Know-how in HW-/SW interfacing, production technology, mechanical integration
  • High knowledge of automotive area requirements
  • Structured, target-oriented working style and cross-functional collaboration
  • Teamwork ability with large internal/external teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and difficult situations
  • High creativity and analytical problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Experience in requirements management beneficial
  • Experience in ASIL / ISO 26262 compliant hardware designs
  • Willingness to travel within German & international on demand

Tasks

  • Lead global Hardware Development for automotive telematics systems
  • Supervise Hardware Experts and Architects for OEM customer projects
  • Coordinate technical expertise and architectural concepts
  • Guide Hardware Development and collaborate with internal and external teams
  • Act as Hardware interface to customers
  • Report to Supervisor Manager Hardware Product Development or Director Hardware Delivery
  • Manage Hardware Basic Development and team members
  • Support integration, manufacturing, qualification, and certification of ECU products
  • Own hardware design and Bill of Materials (BoM)
  • Support customer requirements analysis and feasibility studies
  • Develop high-complexity Telematics Control Units (TCUs) with latest technology
  • Collaborate globally with Construction, System Integration, Testing & Validation, and Software teams
  • Support resource, project, and budget planning
  • Execute cost-down and VAVE activities to meet HW BOM targets
  • Participate in customer presentations and negotiations
  • Support HW/ME Gate-Reviews for Telematics Projects
  • Deploy and implement Harman Automotive BMS Design Process
  • Lead taskforce topics and report to Top Management
  • Support failure analysis and maintenance
  • Conduct technical market and competitor product analysis
  • Gather and report new customer features and innovations
  • Define and specify new product features and technology strategies
  • Supervise and lead HW Basic Development Team
  • Collaborate with cross-SBU and other Harman Engineering teams
  • Recommend task and project prioritization
  • Plan further education and training
  • Incorporate new employees
  • Execute special projects on behalf of the disciplinary superior
  • Provide technical and functional leadership for hardware engineering teams
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare project data for status reporting
  • Analyze customer specifications and generate related work packages
  • Perform design reviews for each development stage
  • Support industrialization of functional items in an international environment
  • Manage requirements with OEM customers, business units, and suppliers
  • Ensure HW Concept & Technology are core for platform/customer projects
  • Define new products based on customer and industry trends
  • Support global and cross-region business collaboration
  • Own Hardware Design & BoM and VAVE
