Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications)
- Minimum 10 years hardware development experience (In-vehicle Infotainment, telematics/connectivity, automotive ECUs)
- Over 5 years project management experience
- Technical team leadership experience
- Best class knowledge in Hardware architecture, development, EMC and RF Design
- Know-how and experience in HW-/SW interfacing, production technology/capability, mechanical integration
- High knowledge of automotive area requirements
- Structured, target-oriented working style and cross-functional team collaboration
- Teamwork ability with large internal/external teams
- Ability to work under pressure and difficult situations
- High creativity and solid analytical problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communication skills (technical and non-technical)
- Strong verbal and written English skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Experience in requirements management (e.g. DOORS, DNG, ALM) beneficial
- Experience in ASIL / ISO 26262 compliant hardware designs
- Willingness to travel within German & international on demand (around 10-25%)
Tasks
- Lead Hardware Product Development team
- Coordinate technical expertise and architectural concepts
- Guide Hardware Development and collaborate with teams
- Supervise Hardware interface to the customer
- Report to Supervisor Manager Hardware Product Development
- Own hardware design and BoM
- Support customer requirements and OEM specifications
- Develop high-complexity Telematics Control Units
- Collaborate globally with Construction, System Integration, Testing & Validation, and Software
- Support resource, project, and budget planning
- Execute cost-down and VAVE activities
- Join customer presentations and negotiations
- Support HW/ME Gate-Review for Telematics Projects
- Deploy and implement Harman Automotive BMS Design Process
- Lead taskforce topics and report to Top Management
- Support failure analysis and maintenance
- Conduct technical market and competitor analysis
- Gather and report new customer features and innovations
- Supervise and lead HW Basic Development Team
- Collaborate with cross SBU and other Harman Engineering teams
- Plan and prioritize team tasks and projects
- Plan further education and training
- Incorporate new employees
- Execute special projects on behalf of the disciplinary superior
- Lead hardware engineering teams cross regions and functions
- Collect and prepare project data for status reporting
- Analyze customer specifications and generate work packages
- Perform design reviews for each development stage
- Support industrialization of functional items
- Manage requirements with OEM customers, business units, and suppliers
- Ensure HW Concept & Technology are core for platform/customer projects
- Define new products based on customer and industry trends
- Provide key technology and concept to customers and product management
- Support global and cross-region business collaboration
