Requirements

  • Occasional business travel
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • 3–5 years experience in similar role, international IT environment
  • Experience supporting international engineering organization
  • Hands-on experience with corporate IT environments
  • End-user computing (Windows, macOS, software deployment, office productivity tools)
  • Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, remote access, firewalls, wireless)
  • Infrastructure fundamentals (virtualized environments, storage, backup, recovery)
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM)
  • Basic understanding of on-site IT / data center environments
  • Experience with ITIL-based service processes (incl. major incident management)
  • Familiarity with enterprise ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
  • Ability to work independently and take local ownership
  • Organized and proactive, hands-on mindset, site-wide operational ability
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in international environment
  • Comfortable acting as local IT authority
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)

Tasks

  • Report to Field IT Manager Europe
  • Take full local responsibility for IT systems and services
  • Act as single point of contact for local IT
  • Ensure stable IT operations and hands-on support
  • Align local business with global IT organization
  • Maintain stable IT infrastructure for local operations
  • Interface with local business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with international IT teams
  • Work with external outsourcing and service partners
  • Communicate and align local needs with corporate IT standards
  • Provide on-site IT support for unresolved issues
  • Support end users in IT processes and escalations
  • Participate in international IT projects
  • Lead site-specific IT initiatives in Germany/Jena
  • Manage incidents, requests, and problems using ITIL
  • Coordinate major incidents and ensure timely resolution
  • Communicate and resolve major incidents using ServiceNow
