Linux Software Engineer(m/w/x)
Developing and maintaining Linux systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, integrating hardware and third-party software. 3+ years embedded Linux development experience required. Flexible working hours, trust-based working hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- 3+ years Linux software development experience, preferably in embedded or robotics
- Strong C/C++ (14+) proficiency with proven Linux application development
- Solid understanding of Linux internals (system services, device trees, kernel modules)
- Experience with cross-compilation, Yocto, Buildroot, or similar build systems
- Hands-on debugging tools experience (GDB, strace, perf) and log analysis
- Familiarity with testing methodologies (unit, integration, system tests)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and release management
- Strong problem-solving skills for software and hardware integration issues
- Proficiency in technical documentation (interface definitions, architectural decisions)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Experience in aerospace, UAV, or automotive industries
- Familiarity with middleware/interface standards (DDS, MAVLink, CAN, Ethernet)
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and virtualization
- Prior Agile/Scrum development environment experience
- Exposure to real-time Linux or safety-critical software development is a plus
Tasks
- Develop and maintain Linux-based systems for unmanned aerial vehicles
- Create and maintain new Linux applications
- Design and document system architecture and interfaces
- Integrate hardware and third-party software into the Linux system
- Collaborate with suppliers and other teams
- Write unit, integration, functional, and acceptance tests
- Analyze logs from test and real-world flights
- Debug and resolve software and hardware issues
- Maintain and extend the build system and tooling
- Create releases with detailed release notes
- Work in an agile environment following defined processes
