Lecturer in Animation and Game & Design(m/w/x)

Description

In this role, you will engage with students by teaching academic modules, providing mentorship, and creating tailored learning materials. Daily responsibilities include assessing student progress, offering private instruction, and actively contributing to the academic environment of the school.

Requirements

• •PhD or PhD candidate
• •Prior teaching experience in higher education at university level
• •Very good knowledge of Windows OS
• •Very good knowledge of MS Office suite
• •Scientific publications in a related discipline
• •Fluent in spoken and written English
• •Knowledge of German is desirable
• •Knowledge of Educational Platforms
• •Working knowledge of timetabling software
• •Sound knowledge of study regulations and rules
• •Advanced technical skills in animation and digital art software
• •Solid understanding of animation principles, productions, workflows, and pipelines
• •Additional experience in game design and UI/UX design is a strong plus
• •Very good organizational and communication skills
• •High social competence and assertiveness
• •Maintaining an overview even with high workloads

Tasks

• •Teach assigned academic modules according to the curriculum
• •Administer, proctor, and mark student assignments and exam papers
• •Amend or design new curriculum for modules as needed
• •Update syllabi as required
• •Supervise several dissertations per academic year if needed
• •Provide consultation and mentoring to students
• •Create assignment briefs and exam papers
• •Give feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques
• •Teach study skills and exam-taking strategies to students
• •Provide private instruction to individuals or small groups to enhance academic performance
• •Assess student progress during tutoring sessions
• •Schedule tutoring appointments with students
• •Monitor student performance in classrooms, laboratories, or computing centers
• •Organize the tutoring environment to enhance productivity and learning
• •Participate in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices
• •Communicate effectively with students and convey passion for learning
• •Maintain records of student assessments, progress, and feedback while ensuring confidentiality
• •Prepare lesson plans or learning modules tailored to program needs and goals
• •Design teaching materials that enhance the student experience
• •Develop written and recorded content as directed by the Chief Academic Officer
• •Research and recommend textbooks, software, and other learning materials
• •Communicate student progress through written reports, in-person meetings, or teleconferencing
• •Identify and implement intervention strategies or individualized education plans for students
• •Perform day-to-day tasks related to maintaining information files and processing teaching paperwork
• •Provide feedback to students on their progress
• •Promote the school proactively
• •Support all students in developing their assignments
• •Participate in school activities as required by the Chief Academic Officer
