Requirements
- BSc. from accredited four-year college
- OE Automotive/Tier 1 embedded electronics design experience
- 5 years focused design for EMC
- Strong aptitude for EMC debug and resolution
- Proficient in electronic design and development tools
- Experience with electronic circuit debug and test
- Experience with requirement management tools
- Proficient in electrical engineering equipment
- Collaborative across multiple engineering disciplines
- Knowledgeable of automotive test methods, standards, equipment, certifications
- Understanding of automotive EMC standards
- Operated EMC testing equipment
- Test software scripting experience with TILE or Python
- Expertise with EMC simulation software
- Working knowledge of CANalyzer and programming with CAPL
- Experience with Li-Ion battery management desired
Tasks
- Lead EMC design and validation for automotive energy storage products
- Act as technical lead for electronic sub-projects or EMC subject-matter expert
- Ensure all EMC requirements and development processes are met
- Solve complex EMC and electronics problems in automotive embedded systems
- Manage interfaces with other departments and suppliers
- Present technical results and findings
- Analyze and validate regulatory and customer requirements
- Plan and coordinate design efforts for integrated hardware systems
- Create and track component EMC specifications for battery and ultra capacitor systems
- Perform design verification activities including analysis, simulation, and reviews
- Conduct EMC testing at Clarios and support external testing
- Generate EMC test specifications, procedures, plans, and reports
- Work independently on development tasks and under minimal guidance
- Author documentation for design compliance with requirements
- Apply problem-solving techniques for EMC issues
- Participate in SDT meetings and provide direction to others
- Support quoting activities for electronics hardware development
- Stay knowledgeable about automotive EMC test methods, standards, and certifications
- Strive to become an EMC expert in automotive battery management electronics
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on project teams
- Participate in engineering development meetings and provide direction
- Manage on-time tasks and responsibilities independently
