Laboratory Technician - Structural Adhesives(m/w/x)
Developing and testing structural adhesives for automotive body shop and battery applications at a materials science company. Polyurethane/epoxy adhesive technologies and automotive industry experience preferred. Autonomous work environment.
Requirements
- Training as a laboratory technician, ideally in chemistry or a related field
- Experience and knowledge in polyurethane and epoxy-based adhesive technologies
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Experience in project management tools and processes
- Self-motivated and agile personality with excellent interpersonal skills
- German language skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office for project documentation
Tasks
- Develop semi-structural and structural adhesives for automotive body shop and battery applications
- Support manufacturing and assist during the commercial launch of technologies
- Independently formulate adhesive recipes with minimal supervision
- Prepare adhesive recipes according to process standards and assist with scale-up activities
- Conduct independent testing and performance characterization of adhesives
- Document recipes and results based on available templates
- Prepare customer presentations in collaboration with the project leader
- Contribute to intellectual property documentation
- Summarize and evaluate project results in laboratory reports and internal publications
- Execute practical work in compliance with DuPont EH&S standards
- Proactively contribute to improving safety and cleanliness standards
- Participate in project milestone meetings aligned with commercialization processes
- Develop technology improvements based on adhesive prototype evaluations
- Define product specification limits and guide manufacturing process standards
- Communicate directly with customers to enhance innovative product development
