Requirements
- •Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, (Electro)Chemistry, or a related field
- •In-depth understanding of ceramic materials, preferably high-temperature oxide ceramics
- •Familiarity with mechanical, thermal, and microstructural properties of ceramic materials
- •Strong research and analytical skills
- •Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- •Ability to work independently and take initiative
- •Experience with material micro-structure characterization techniques, such as X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS)
- •Hands-on experience in ceramic material manufacturing and testing
- •Proven track record in high-temperature ceramic research
- •Encouragement to apply even if experience doesn't precisely match
- •Legal right to work in the EU

- •Conduct research on oxide ceramics for high-temperature heating applications
- •Analyze failure mechanisms such as creep and diffusion
- •Develop models to estimate service lifetime of high-temperature ceramic materials
- •Support design, testing, and manufacturing activities with material insights
- •Assist in building an R&D manufacturing process for ceramic components
- •Collaborate with external project partners and suppliers
- •Conduct experiments for material micro-structure characterization
- •Outsource tests when appropriate
- •Support concept development with creativity and technical expertise
- •Explore innovative approaches and engage in team discussions
- •Familiarize yourself with team priorities and workflows
- •Understand colleagues' roles and responsibilities
- •Gain an introduction to the technology and development processes
- •Learn about boundary conditions and operating requirements for ceramic components
- •Propose improvements to designs and processes
- •Address material-related questions and challenges
- •Establish an in-house R&D manufacturing line for ceramic components
- •Mitigate material-related risks to enhance reliability and performance
- •Lead research projects to advance heating technology
- •Enhance manufacturing quality of ceramic components
