IoT Engineering Manager(m/w/x)

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• 2+ years in technical leadership with at least 1 year of people management
• Strong programming skills in Python or another object-oriented language
• Proficiency in Linux and Bash scripting
• Experience with embedded and electrical hardware integration
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud-native deployment strategies
• Understanding of key security concepts and best practices for backend services
• Experience with industrial protocols and messaging brokers
• Strong understanding of client-server architectures and backend security
• Experience with large-scale IoT device management
• Strong written and spoken English skills (level C1 on the CEFR scale)

Tasks

• Lead and develop a team of around 8 engineers
• Conduct regular 1:1s and career development discussions
• Provide constructive feedback and support
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
• Encourage innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Identify development opportunities and support skill-building
• Guide performance management for team members
• Attract and retain top talent by creating a thriving environment
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to set goals
• Support the team in planning, estimating, and delivering outcomes
• Balance capacity, priorities, and individual workloads
• Drive continuous improvement in team processes
• Develop short and long-term technical roadmaps with the team
• Challenge and propose solution concepts
• Ensure successful delivery of technical projects
• Create and optimize processes for the IoT platform lifecycle
• Monitor and maintain the IoT platform for high availability
• Ensure effective communication with cross-functional teams
