Requirements

  • •Studies in Physics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, Biomedical engineering, or similar
  • •Strong knowledge of geometrical and physical optics
  • •Experience with Ansys/Zemax (OpticStudio) simulation software
  • •Proficiency in Python for data analysis
  • •Independent, structured, detail-oriented, and analytical working style
  • •Strong analytical skills and data interpretation
  • •Teamwork and excellent communication skills
  • •Very good English and optional German skills
  • •Six-month commitment and mandatory student enrollment

Education

Currently in higher education

Tasks

  • •Perform optical simulations for eye care devices using Ansys/Zemax
  • •Automate simulations and visualizations with an object-oriented Python framework
  • •Analyze how optical settings influence OCT tomogram images
  • •Quantify medical image tomograms and their diagnostic variations
  • •Conduct data analysis and image reconstruction using Python
  • •Prepare technical reports and presentations of simulation results
  • •Collaborate with optical engineers and researchers on OCT projects
  • •Assist the team with ad-hoc optical simulations and analyses
