Description

You will drive the evaluation of RISC-V processors by analyzing hardware efficiency and software ecosystems, helping the team understand how these cores compare to established architectures.

Requirements

• •Master studies in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or comparable
• •Knowledge in C/C++, RTOS and VHDL or Verilog
• •Familiarity with version control systems like Git
• •Experience with Computer Architecture and ISA
• •Knowledge of FPGA or ASIC Design Flows
• •Hands-on, independent, proactive and organized teamwork
• •Problem-solving attitude and strong communication skills
• •Passion for Computer Architecture
• •Eagerness to learn and contribute
• •Good English and basic German skills
• •Enrollment at university

Tasks

• •Conduct comprehensive benchmark analyses of RISC-V processor cores
• •Compare RISC-V cores against commercial and proprietary CPU architectures
• •Evaluate hardware efficiency regarding Power, Performance, and Area
• •Assess ASIC implementation metrics
• •Evaluate architectural capabilities and instruction set extensions
• •Analyze the software ecosystem's usability and maturity
• •Measure the performance of associated compiler toolchains
