Requirements
- Enrolment in engineering degree or similar
- Master's level degree preferred
- Basic knowledge of numerical simulations
- Interest in finite element methods
- Initial experience with simulation software
- Initial experience with CAD software
- Analytical skills
- Solution-oriented and scientifically precise style
- Teamwork skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Very good command of English
- Ideally good command of German
Tasks
- Apply numerical simulations to develop new orthopedic implants
- Validate simulations through physical testing and literature data
- Define physiological loads and failure modes
- Research treatment approaches via literature and internal databases
- Evaluate design concepts using finite element analysis
- Utilize musculoskeletal modeling and CAD software
- Assess physical test setups for new implants
- Collaborate with colleagues to adapt physical tests
- Ensure tests meet simulation validation requirements
- Study simulation reporting standards including ASME V&V40
- Document simulation work according to medical device standards
- Present technical work to various stakeholders
- Navigate the orthopedic product development process
