Requirements
- Enrolled student in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Prior software development experience
- Team-oriented, proactive, and independent work capability
- Willingness to autonomously learn about trapped-ion quantum computing and cryogenic electronics
- Prior experience in Quantum Computing, Semiconductor Physics, or circuit design (advantageous)
- Experience in technical writing (advantageous)
- Open-minded, attentive, curious, and intrinsically motivated
- Fluent in written and spoken German
- Mandatory internship as part of study program
Tasks
- Support development and characterization of cryogenic electronic subsystems
- Conduct literature research and data collection on Quantum Computing, Semiconductor Physics, and circuit design
- Contribute to technical documentation, test reports, and internal knowledge bases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of physicists and engineers
- Take ownership of smaller sub-tasks and work packages
- Design and layout PCB schematic for SPAD array demonstrator
- Develop software to interface SPAD array with PC using Arduino microcontroller
- Perform measurements to verify functionality of SPAD array demonstrator
- Ensure reliable progress and timely delivery of tasks
- Handle security-related tasks as required
- Work towards security certifications with a conscious and reliable approach
Education
- Currently in higher education
