Intern - Power Electronics/Magnetic Simulation(m/w/x)
2D/3D magnetic field simulations for electromagnetic component design and optimization of coils, inductors, transformers at global ICT solutions provider. Experience with COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell, CST, or similar magnetic simulation software required. Healthy meals, German and Mandarin language courses.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field
- Experience with magnetic simulation software such as COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell, CST, Opera, or similar
- Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and numerical techniques for electromagnetic modeling
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, magnetostatics, and electromagnetics
- Familiarity with design and optimization of magnetic components (motors, sensors, transformers, etc.)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for automating simulations and data analysis
- Experience with multi-physics simulations involving thermal, mechanical, and electrical
- Understanding of power electronics fundamentals is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Tasks
- Perform 2D/3D magnetic field simulations
- Analyze and optimize electromagnetic component designs
- Design and optimize coils, inductors, and transformers
- Analyze simulation data and generate reports
- Present findings to the engineering team
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on prototyping
- Validate simulation results with physical testing
- Assist in troubleshooting discrepancies between simulations and measurements
- Develop custom simulation tools and scripts
- Automate and streamline the simulation process
