Intellectual Property Manager / Patent Attorney(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Completed studies in chemistry or chemical process engineering
- Qualification as a registered representative before the European Patent Office or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in an industrial company or private law firm
- Experience in dealing with universities and research collaborations
- Experience in leading complex projects within interdisciplinary teams
- Fluent English skills; good knowledge of French and/or German
- Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and strong customer orientation
- Integrative personality with strong communication skills and team spirit
- High level of initiative and flexibility
Tasks
- Identify patenting opportunities in research and development projects
- Define, obtain, and enforce intellectual property rights domestically and internationally
- Represent the Evonik Group before national and international authorities and courts
- Challenge third-party intellectual property rights
- Defend Evonik’s intellectual property against third-party attacks
- Prepare expert opinions on Evonik’s and third-party IP positions
- Evaluate IP positions prior to market launch of new products and processes
- Contribute to the development and implementation of intellectual property strategies
- Prepare expert opinions to safeguard Evonik’s know-how
- Monitor compliance with patent, trademark, and employee invention laws
- Advise on research, cooperation, licensing, and confidentiality agreements
- Negotiate contracts with a focus on intellectual property
- Review and approve new products, brochures, packaging, and publications
