Requirements

  • •Particle physicist with software skills
  • •Familiarity with HEP data sets
  • •Experience building libraries with C++, FORTRAN, Python
  • •Familiarity with large open source codebases
  • •Familiarity with ROOT and Key4hep ecosystem
  • •Proficiency in Python, C++, Git, CMake

Tasks

  • •Migrate ALEPH data into EDM4hep formats
  • •Optimize data extraction applications for performance
  • •Validate data chains using benchmark analyses
  • •Document migrated data and help tools
  • •Produce Monte Carlo events using legacy software
  • •Integrate recent event generators into workflows
  • •Investigate data migration for DELPHI and OPAL
  • •Support users and incorporate their feedback
  • •Present project results at relevant events
  • •Supervise students on specific project tasks
