Head of Grid Connection(m/w/x)

Requirements

• Completed degree in electrical, energy, or renewable engineering, or equivalent experience
• Solid knowledge of grid-code requirements, electrical standards, and certifications (VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 or FGW TR3/TR8)
• Understanding of medium-voltage switching, protection concepts, and control/communication interfaces (EMS, SCADA, telecontrol)
• Strong stakeholder relationship building skills
• Structured, solution-oriented work approach with strong technical and commercial insight
• Clear communication in German
• Effective collaboration in multidisciplinary teams
• Good English proficiency

Tasks

• Secure grid connections
• Negotiate grid connections
• Guide an experienced team through the grid-connection lifecycle
• Identify grid connection points
• Engage early with grid operators
• Manage planning processes
• Manage tendering processes
• Support project delivery from development to COD
• Lead the Grid Connection team
• Provide direction, coaching, and technical guidance to the team
• Develop technical connection concepts
• Develop electrical designs for grid connections
• Perform calculations for medium- and high-voltage grid connections
• Manage grid connection applications
• Coordinate technical negotiations with DSOs and TSOs
• Prepare grid infrastructure specifications, tenders, bids, and terms
• Review grid infrastructure specifications, tenders, bids, and terms
• Oversee execution quality, interfaces, and progress during construction
• Ensure compliance with standards during construction
• Ensure transparent project communication during construction
• Coordinate commissioning, certification, and grid-code compliance
• Coordinate complete documentation for handover to operations
