Requirements

  • •Degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
  • •Several years of professional experience in cross-functional development of embedded systems, preferably in medical device development
  • •Experience in technical and disciplinary leadership and developing high-performing teams in a regulated environment and cybersecurity
  • •Experience in collaborating with and managing external development partners nationally and globally
  • •In-depth knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and Linux-based real-time operating systems, preferably Zephyr, as well as microcontrollers and bus systems (CAN, CAN-FD, TSN)
  • •Familiarity with modern product and software development methods and CI/CD tools, such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jira
  • •Knowledge of platform development/product line engineering; practical experience is desirable
  • •Application-related project management skills and ability to use classic and agile approaches as appropriate
  • •Solution-oriented and analytical mindset
  • •Good communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
  • •Enjoyment of working with international and diverse teams
  • •Very good English skills, written and spoken, and good German skills

  • •Contribute to quality improvement and cost reduction
  • •Integrate open source principles into development processes
  • •Represent ZEISS in external committees and open source communities
  • •Implement best practices in product and software development
  • •Establish verification and validation strategies for quality assurance
  • •Ensure compliance with legal and normative requirements
  • •Adhere to relevant cybersecurity specifications in development
