- Education in forestry, GIS, or landscape management desirable
- Knowledge of relevant scientific tools and methods desirable
- Knowledge of national regulations and policies in sub-Saharan Africa is a plus
Tasks
- Lead conceptualisation and design of forest conservation and reforestation activities
- Account for forest inventory, species selection, nursery development, and silviculture
- Catalyse implementation and management of landscape projects
- Analyse forest landscapes and spatial trends with earth observation engineers
- Perform historical land cover and land use analysis
- Conduct baseline and project feasibility studies
- Evaluate and enhance inventory data and management plans
- Lead design and monitoring of earthworks and planting
- Plan and develop nurseries and produce seedlings
- Conduct statistical analysis on field data
- Model tree growth and yield using peer-reviewed methods
- Develop maps, diagrams, and graphs for project support
- Evaluate and document potential market value chains
- Support Project Development Specialists in creating certification-compliant documents
