Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Experience in Financial Controlling, Product Control, or Commercial Finance
  • Good knowledge of German GAAP and mark-to-market accounting concepts
  • General awareness of IFRS
  • Experience with complex reporting and consolidation structures (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of oil & gas marketing and downstream value chain (advantageous)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP
  • PowerPoint skills (plus)
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools (plus)
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • German skills (plus)

Tasks

  • Analyze P&Ls for marketing activities
  • Evaluate margin developments and variances
  • Identify key financial performance drivers
  • Understand mark-to-market and accrual accounting
  • Interpret commercial and financial data
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Support accruals and adjustments
  • Identify financial and operational risks
  • Strengthen control mechanisms
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Advise Marketing, Finance, and Risk teams
  • Translate complex financial topics into insights
  • Derive recommendations from data
  • Act as a trusted sparring partner
  • Support commercial decision-making

  • Bachelor's degree
