Engineering Project Leader(m/w/x)

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in Electronic Control development
• Experience in Safety Electronics or ADAS ideally
• Experience in direct customer contact (OEMs)
• Supplier and sub-supplier handling experience ideally
• Profound knowledge in Automotive Development
• Experience leading interdisciplinary and international teams
• Knowledge of Product Development Processes (Spice)
• Experience in ISO26262 or FUSA standards
• Engineering degree in Electronics, Physics or equivalent
• Knowledge in High-Speed Design or Software development

Tasks

• Steer technical direction for ADAS and Autonomous Driving projects
• Lead global cross-functional engineering teams
• Manage system, hardware, software, and integration activities
• Act as the key technical interface for OEM customers
• Define and monitor tasks in systems and hardware engineering
• Define and monitor tasks in software and integration engineering
• Escalate technical issues and conflicting activities to the Chief Engineer
• Solve complex cross-competency issues with global teams
• Represent Aptiv as the technical counterpart for customers
• Participate in product strategy and architecture meetings
• Prepare and execute design reviews
• Supervise peer reviews owned by hardware and software owners
• Ensure completeness of the Design Review workbook per PDP process
• Identify and evaluate technical risks and project scope changes
• Manage the Technical Risk Register and contingency plans
• Approve start, stop, and changes of engineering work packages
• Evaluate and manage internal and customer technical change requests
• Estimate effort, timing, and cost for technical changes
• Present and follow PCE impacts in compliance with processes
• Track closure of PCRs and VIRs with hardware and software owners
• Develop compliant engineering timing for hardware, validation, software, and systems
• Monitor engineering execution against standard work and best practices
• Ensure work products comply with organizational policies
• Troubleshoot customer problems and drive corrective actions
• Coordinate and deliver product solutions at customer milestones
• Participate in Big Room Planning and Program Iteration demos
• Provide engineering budget input for resource demand and capital expense
• Identify and fulfill staffing assignments with competency leads
• Initiate and track MCIP execution
• Mentor technical managers in hard and soft skills
• Create and update the mentoring database for reuse
• Supervise technical managers in critical decision-making situations
• Initiate and moderate lessons learned sessions
