Requirements
- Enrollment in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Interest in aerodynamics and performance development
- Experience with CAD tools
- Basic experience with CFD tools
- Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving
- Independent work and collaboration skills
- Experience with aerodynamic optimization, advantageous
- Passion for cycling and sports equipment
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
Tasks
- Analyze existing solutions and competitor benchmarks
- Evaluate system concepts for aerodynamics and ergonomics
- Assess manufacturing feasibility and cost implications
- Run CFD simulations across various yaw angles
- Optimize geometries for real-world riding conditions
- Define simulation targets with aero and design engineers
- Build detailed 3D CAD models and interfaces
- Define materials, tolerances, and assembly strategies
- Incorporate tooling and molding constraints into designs
- Lead the build of functional prototypes
- Plan and execute wind-tunnel test sessions
- Compare CFD predictions against wind-tunnel data
- Deliver tool-ready CAD and drawing packages
- Document validation results and design decisions
- Support handover to manufacturing and supplier teams
