Electrical/Mechatronics Engineer Intern(m/w/x)
Developing critical components for fusion energy experiments, including motion control test setups. PCB design and soldering skills required. Collaboration with mechanical engineers and scientists.
Requirements
- PCB design (1-2 Layers)
- PCB and soldering skills, cable management
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or related
- Electrical engineering/electronics knowledge, hardware and software design experience
- Soldering SMD and THT components
- Soldering and assembling electronic components
- Reading and interpreting schematic diagrams and technical drawings
- Microcontrollers (e.g., ESP32) or programmable boards (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi)
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Tasks
- Develop critical components for MF experimental campaigns
- Maintain proper documentation
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and scientists
- Design motion control and monitoring test setups
- Assemble and test PCB for motion control and cameras
- Test electrical safety and compliance of equipment
- Provide off-site electrical support
- Install and test PCBs off-site
- Write electrical testing protocols and reports
- Create wiring and system diagrams
Education
- Currently in higher education
