Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Solid foundation in electrical engineering principles
  • Proven hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex electrical systems
  • Proficient in electrical design software such as EPLAN P8 or similar E-CAD tools
  • Knowledge of PLC-based control systems and industrial automation
  • Practical experience with industrial safety standards
  • Experience with lab and test equipment and understanding of calibration and traceability
  • Ability to define and document safety architectures and interface control documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical skills, adaptability, and proactive mindset
  • Willingness to travel for several weeks at a time
  • Experience in large-scale industrial or research facilities
  • Knowledge of pulsed power components for high-intensity lasers
  • Familiarity with IEC 60825 and additional standards
  • Knowledge of IEC 62061, EN ISO 12100
  • Knowledge of LVD 2014/35/EU, EMC 2014/30/EU, MD 2006/42/EC
  • Knowledge of DIN VDE 0100 series
  • Knowledge of quality management principles
  • Experience with configuration of safety-rated controllers
  • Project management certification

Master's degree

Bachelor's degree

Work Experience

3 - 5 years

Tasks

  • Design and develop the electrical system for a scalable, industrial diode-pumped ultra-high intensity laser system
  • Contribute expertise in electrical systems to the overall laser design
  • Integrate the electrical system in a future facility, collaborating with the laser and engineering departments
  • Interact with external partners and team members during development
  • Develop quality plans and inspection & test plans for electrical systems
  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of electrical systems
  • Provide input on projects related to analog and digital circuit design, process control systems, and more
  • Support R&D projects with troubleshooting, prototyping, and repair work
  • Travel to facilities worldwide for several weeks
