Requirements
- Seasoned director level project management experience
- Prior cruise ship new build experience
- Proven experience leading multiple, complex projects and large teams
- Ability to lead staff, consultants, and vendors
- Understanding business drivers and market conditions
- Skilled negotiator for contracts, project changes, and claims
- Significant contract administration and claims management experience
- Strong meeting leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, and alignment skills
- Effective communication, collaboration, technical writing, presentation, and people skills
- Degree educated, preferably in technical field or equivalent experience
- Post graduate level studies desirable
- Experience working with major shipyards and cruise line operators desirable
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in maritime and hospitality
- Demonstrable Project Management Delivery experience of large and complex projects
Tasks
- Lead ship new build projects for Disney Cruise Line
- Report to Project Management Studio Executive
- Oversee a team of specialists
- Develop and reassess project delivery strategies
- Establish a culture of initiative and risk management
- Identify and manage estimate gaps and trade-offs
- Manage project contingency and cost reduction
- Determine and mitigate project delivery risks
- Solve project issues and resolve conflicts
- Negotiate shipyard contracts and project changes
- Leverage lessons learned from previous projects
- Collaborate with internal and external organizations
- Ensure satisfaction with project delivery
- Partner with Walt Disney Imagineering for creative vision
- Create high-performing teams through leadership
- Supervise project managers and set priorities
- Conduct performance evaluations
