Requirements
- Bachelor/Master in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field; advanced professional certifications advantageous
- Extensive EHS&S leadership experience in complex, regulated environments (e.g., manufacturing, life sciences, energy, technology, or similar industries)
- Deep knowledge of German and EU EHS&S regulations, standards, and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams and influence senior leaders
- Strong business acumen balancing risk management, compliance, and operational excellence
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Fluent German and English (Written & Verbal: C1)
Tasks
- Provide strategic leadership for EHS&S programs
- Protect employees, contractors, communities, and assets
- Drive compliance with German, EU, and corporate regulations
- Advise senior leadership on EHS&S matters
- Embed a strong safety and security culture
- Design and implement EHS&S strategies and policies
- Establish and align EHS&S goals with global frameworks
- Interpret and enhance corporate EHS&S policies
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Oversee audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Identify and mitigate emerging risks
- Manage business continuity and crisis response
- Direct all EHS&S activities and outcomes
- Make final operational and administrative decisions
- Operate with high autonomy and accountability
- Lead and develop the EHS&S organization
- Define and manage organizational structures and roles
- Plan and allocate budgets and resources
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
- Integrate EHS&S requirements in business initiatives
- Represent the organization to external stakeholders
- Champion a strong EHS&S culture
- Promote continuous improvement through data and best practices
- Ensure all activities are safe and sustainable
