Requirements
- •Master’s degree or PhD in materials science, mechanical engineering, physics, chemical engineering, or related field
- •Several years of experience in characterization of polymers and composite materials, ideally in fuel cells or water electrolysis
- •Solid knowledge of ion-conducting polymers, ideally perfluorinated membranes
- •Confident handling of mechanical analyses, including material behavior modeling or FEM-based approaches
- •Independent, structured working style and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration in PEM electrolysis
- •Good understanding of electrochemical systems, particularly PEM water electrolysis
- •Very good written and spoken English skills; German language skills are nice to have

Tasks
- •Develop and analyze membranes and CCMs for PEM electrolysis cells
- •Execute and enhance characterization methods
- •Plan and conduct experimental test series
- •Perform mechanical simulations and evaluate data
- •Derive actionable recommendations from test results
- •Assess new membrane materials and collaborate with suppliers
- •Support material qualification for existing and new products
- •Document results and prepare technical reports
- •Present findings within an interdisciplinary team
- •Collaborate closely with stack development, quality, and production teams
