Requirements

• Strong expertise in analytical and dimensional data modeling
• Thinking in terms of long-lasting, stable data products
• Extensive experience with Azure Data Services
• Extensive experience with Snowflake
• Extensive experience with dbt as central transformation tool
• Expert level SQL mastery
• Confident Python use for data processes
• Experience in dbt governance
• Architectural thinking
• Precise communication
• Ability to enforce standards without blockers
• Ensuring long-term maintainability, performance, scalability of data model
• Business-fluent English (C1)
• Good German language skills
• Experience with Kafka or event-streaming architectures (plus)

Tasks

• Bridge complex source systems to a unified data model.
• Ensure conceptual, logical, and structural integrity of the Core Data Model.
• Ensure integrity of the Gold Layer across Azure, Snowflake, and dbt.
• Transform fragmented data into consistent, reusable data products.
• Prevent platform drift into team-specific, incompatible models.
• Define and maintain central business objects.
• Define and maintain canonical dimensions.
• Define and maintain shared metrics and facts.
• Develop modeling standards and naming conventions.
• Develop layering concepts (Staging → Intermediate → Gold).
• Develop reuse patterns and dbt design guidelines.
• Ensure consistent implementation of guidelines across all teams.
• Safeguard semantic consistency of the entire data model.
• Resolve domain conflicts.
• Ensure identical business terms are modeled only once.
• Review changes affecting core layers.
• Act as technical design authority for Snowflake/dbt model changes.
• Balance local requirements with long-term model coherence.
• Ensure models remain performant, scalable, maintainable, and high quality.
