- •Ph.D. or Masters’ degree with 5+ years’ experience
- •Expert knowledge in plant pathology
- •Experience in plant breeding and trait development
- •Experience in scientific project and staff management
- •Knowledge of corn diseases and resistance traits
- •Experience of disease trialing and assay execution
- •Understanding of trait discovery and deployment
- •Ability to use digital tools for data
- •Understanding of statistics and molecular marker development
- •Multi-cultural and multi-regional understanding
- •Ability to communicate and influence stakeholders
- •Ability to work in a matrix environment

- •Lead resistance trait discovery projects and manage timelines
- •Plan and conduct trials to characterize resistance phenotypes
- •Generate and share quality data for germplasm selection
- •Manage technology access, personnel, resources, and budgets
- •Develop tools for disease phenotyping and genetic studies
- •Characterize new genetic sources and capture intellectual property
- •Track pathogen evolution to ensure rational trait deployment
- •Collaborate with pathology colleagues, breeding leads, and academics
- •Participate in and contribute to European corn MSTs
- •Engage proactively with R&D digital initiatives and governance
- •Manage team activities and support people development
- •Lead or contribute to cross-crop technical initiatives
