Requirements

  • •University degree or equivalent in system engineering or relevant discipline
  • •Effective work in English and some knowledge of French
  • •Background in Meteorological and/or Earth Observation systems design and development
  • •Relevant experience in requirements engineering, design concepts, and large systems
  • •Competence in managing requirements using formal methods and tools
  • •Practical experience in using UML/SysML MBSE based tools
  • •Experience in working/leading small teams and strong interpersonal skills

Tasks

  • •Provide support for ground segment system engineering design and IV&V
  • •Evaluate ground segment system level architectural trade-offs and design decisions
  • •Document design justification and design reports
  • •Specify and consolidate ground segment requirements
  • •Apportion requirements into different elements of the functional chain
  • •Define and control ground segment interfaces
  • •Engage in discussions to enhance EUMETSAT's ground segment engineering approach
  • •Facilitate technical discussions with partner agencies on system drivers and external interfaces
  • •Contribute to ground segment IV&V plans and specifications
  • •Generate system level design documentation for reviews
  • •Conduct studies in ground segment system engineering areas
  • •Manage industrial contracts and services related to responsibilities
  • •Develop and maintain expertise in ground segment system engineering
  • •Monitor industrial and technological advancements relevant to the role
