Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Economics, or (Business) Law
- Working knowledge/hands-on experience with German Law contracts
- Fluent reading, writing, speaking, and negotiation in German and English
- Preferably 5-10+ years hands-on experience in EPC project environment, Contract/Subcontract Management (civil/electrical installations emphasis)
- Successful experience processing, managing, administering contractual agreements (execution/closing stages)
- Solid experience in project change management, claim management, contract-related legal issues
- Ability to interface and negotiate with customers/subcontractors on contracts/projects (including changes)
- Previous experience in German power transmission/grid projects (a plus)
- Willingness to travel as needed (20-25%+) for project meetings, sites, suppliers
Tasks
- Administer contracts daily
- Analyze contract baselines with the project team
- Highlight contract opportunities and risks
- Educate cross-functional teams on contract matters
- Manage commercial aspects of contracts/subcontracts
- Handle claims, variation orders, and warranties
- Oversee provisions, guarantees, and insurance requirements
- Develop and implement risk mitigation and opportunity plans
- Establish and enforce standard contract methodologies
- Identify, notify, enforce, or defend contract changes/claims
- Analyze crucial flow-down provisions
- Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders
- Develop contract strategies with project management
- Participate in project execution negotiations
- Develop negotiation strategies with stakeholders
- Consult Legal and other functions for agreements
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize agreements
- Liaise with Legal on major claims
- Keep Legal updated on critical project developments
- Support Legal in dispute resolution
- Participate in contract closeout processes
- Verify fulfillment of contractual obligations
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders
- Seek continuous improvements
- Contribute to lessons learned processes
