COEM Business Development Director(m/w/x)
Driving COEM growth and strategy for transportation industry manufacturers. 10+ years automotive industry experience in sales or related commercial functions required. Extensive regional client engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Technical/engineering or Business background preferred
- Master's degree (Engineering or MBA) preferred
- Strong capability to absorb technical information
- 10+ years working experience in automotive industry (sales, commercial, business development or related functions)
- 5+ years direct experience with Chinese local automotive OEM customers
- Strong sales/business development expertise
- Proven experience of new customers or new market breakthrough and new business awards
- Deep knowledge of regional automotive markets (EMEA or North America, South America experience preferred)
- Understanding of local competition and customer landscape with 5+ years’ experience in the region
- Proactive mindset
- Drive to challenge norms and capture market share
- Strong English language skills
- Strong Chinese language skills
- Cross-functional and regional communication skills

Tasks
- Lead all COEM business development activities in the region.
- Seek and consolidate all COEM activities in the region.
- Identify business opportunities.
- Develop strategies for business pursuit and awards.
- Develop local relationships with key customer contacts.
- Connect with COEM HQ relationships.
- Build Tenneco's global brand and confidence.
- Showcase Tenneco's capabilities to AMER/EMEA COEM teams.
- Lead workshops, tech days, and roadshows.
- Act as the internal customer champion.
- Understand customer needs.
- Develop tailored services to educate internal teams.
- Maximize product value for customers.
- Lead RFQ responses by analyzing requirements.
- Co-develop technical and financial proposals.
- Negotiate contracts for a high win-rate.
- Monitor OEM purchasing plans and communications.
- Target bid opportunities.
- Work closely with regional cross-functional teams.
- Maintain strong links between China and regional teams.
- Actively monitor customer, market, and competition developments.
