Requirements
- 3-5+ years operating multi-axis CNC machining centers, ideally 5-axis
- Production run experience, not just one-offs
- Independent machine setup from documented process sheets
- Tool loading and work offset setting
- Program verification and first-off part confirmation
- Experience running repeat jobs to tight tolerances
- Consistent quality production
- Understanding of SPC and in-process checks
- Ability to hold spec over a batch
- Experience machining aerospace metals (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, stainless steel)
- Understanding of material behavior under tool
- Ability to spot machining trouble before scrap
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T
- Understanding and measuring drawing tolerances
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
- Basic CMM operation
- Diagnosing and fixing machining issues (chatter, dimension drift, finish)
- Adjusting feeds, speeds, or tooling
- Clear escalation of programming issues
- Comfort operating alongside robotic loading systems
- Comfort operating in software-driven workflows
- Flagging issues to automation team
- Fluent German
- English proficiency is a plus
Tasks
- Operate 5-axis machining centers
- Optimize production processes
- Maintain high quality and repeatability
- Run components with tight tolerances
- Work in production cells with robotic automation
- Follow established CAM programs and setup documentation
- Load jobs and verify setups
- Monitor cuts and ensure parts meet specifications
- Collaborate with robotic tending systems
- Act as quality control in automated workflows
- Provide feedback to AI systems
- Set up machines from process sheets
- Load tools and set work offsets
- Verify programs and run first-off parts
- Run repeat jobs with consistent quality
- Understand SPC and in-process checks
- Diagnose and fix tool chatter and dimension issues
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling as needed
- Escalate issues requiring re-programming
- Operate in a software-driven factory
- Flag issues to the automation team
