Tasks

  • Lead integrated operations across Port Operations, Intermodal Logistics, and Cargo Flow.
  • Optimize processes and systems within the Germany Cluster.
  • Ensure seamless alignment of planning, execution, cost, and service reliability.
  • Plan and define short, medium, and long-term operational goals with Regional and Head Offices.
  • Optimize processes to improve business efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to pre-defined key performance indicators.
  • Ensure efficiency and security of Group assets.
  • Manage Group operations cost-effectively.
  • Identify and develop Landside projects.
  • Align Landside projects with the German Cluster growth strategy.
  • Lead operations teams to achieve enhanced results.
  • Embed the company’s employee engagement culture.
  • Plan, direct, and oversee current operational policies, rules, initiatives, and goals.
  • Ensure smooth integration of new company initiatives.
  • Manage operational cost performance and efficiency KPIs.
  • Govern budgets and optimize cost-to-serve across German operations.
  • Define and document operational procedures.
  • Ensure employee adherence to operational procedures.
  • Develop processes and procedures for a ‘One Company’ approach.
  • Ensure understanding of industry and company regulations.
  • Implement current and forthcoming regulations impacting cost and working practices.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all short, medium, and long-term projects.
  • Collaborate closely with service providers and vendors.
  • Ensure vendor efficiency within the network.
  • Address vendor shortcomings immediately.
  • Implement reporting mechanisms to monitor vendor efficiency.
  • Address adverse cost impacts from network inefficiency.
  • Communicate cost impacts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively address shortcomings impacting operational performance.
  • Improve service to customers and reduce system costs.
  • Build a culture that encourages and appreciates new initiatives.
  • Define and review roles for Operations Team Leaders and Managers.
  • Align roles with departmental and business objectives.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Operational Managers and talent.
  • Support business needs and provide stability in the Operations structure.
  • Promote a high-performance culture among Operations employees.
  • Apply robust performance management practices.
  • Manage employee expectations and performance issues.

  • Conduct regular performance appraisals.
